The club is always looking for additional volunteers to help with the running of the club. Shepshed Dynamo Y&J is a volunteer-run club that can lead to some age groups having more capacity for players than others. If you would like to help in any age group to allow more children to access football we would love to hear from you.

Currently, the club have no representation in the following age groups:

  • Under 7’s (current year 2)
  • Under 9’s (current year 4)
  • Under 12’s (current year 7)
  • Under 15’s (current year 10)

We would love to hear from anyone potentially thinking of coaching for Shepshed Dynamo Y&J that may be interested in these teams.

What is the role of the youth team manager?

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the club provides a team to compete in the district youth league and cup competitions. The coach is responsible for all aspects of activity regarding the age group. 

The coach is permitted to appoint assistants as required, so long as they meet the membership requirements of the club.

What are the tasks involved? (Weekly):

  • Organisation of coaching/training with appointed age group once per week, and more if required/desired;
  • Liaise with opposition coach regarding league, cup and friendly matches;
  • Team selection and substitutes before and during all matches;
  • Responsible for the teams kit and equipment;
  • The safety of equipment used during training and matches;
  • Set up of the pitch before and after the game e.g., nets & comer flags etc;
  • To complete and keep accurate records & data of all players in the team including telephone numbers in case of emergencies;

What else may be involved? (Annually):

  • Attend AGM to report teams progress and any other club business;
  • Attend presentation night to report teams progress and present awards;
  • Attend appointed league AGM, collect and complete players signing on forms before the start of the next football season;

What are the requirments of the club:

The club requires the minimum F.A. qualification of the Introduction to Coaching Football course to be held by one coach at the age group. The club will assist you in obtaining this award and cover the cost. A DBS check will also be required.

Club officials and team coaches are always on hand to give any assistance or advice. A club information pack including a handbook, rules, codes, procedures and guidelines will be issued at the start of every season.

What equipment is provided:

All of the appropriate training equipment such as balls, bibs, cones and goals shall be provided. Access to training drills and support from other coaches will also be available.
